Each May, the 21st Century Leaders graduates a diverse class of approximately 40-45 seventh graders, representing 25 public and private schools throughout the Woodward Corridor Communities of Detroit, Ferndale, Berkley, Royal Oak, Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills. Student-leaders share their unique experiences, engaging in problem-solving & self-awareness activities. Workshops may include public speaking, etiquette, entrepreneurship, temperaments, 7 Habits, money management, community service, etc.
Because students participate from schools in different communities, they can share their unique social and cultural experiences as they engage in problem-solving and self-awareness activities. Since 1996, 21CL has sponsored 550+ seventh grade students in the discovery of their own leadership.
By graduation, leaders have discovered new abilities inside themselves…a larger awareness of their community…experiences of their own leadership in action…to take with them through their lives.
